Hey Kendra:
Yes! You can rent a Nice Ride for $6 for a 24-hour period, plus the time you'll have it out. There are stations at Logan Park and NE Central Ave and 22nd, both near the start/end point of the route. You can take one out with a credit card at either of these terminals. Note that you do pay trip fees for time beyond 30 minutes, so you may want to plan to return a bike and check one out. Looks like the best option for that would be using the 12th Ave/NE University Ave station, just a block off the ride. But check out the ride map and Nice Ride station map for more info.

Is the registration $25 per person? I work at a non-profit that serves young people and we are looking for fun summer activities for youth. The Northeast Ride sounds fun if it is financially feasible.

Hi Tracie,

Thanks for the heads up on that! It looks like the button broke so it was linking to paypal, but without the payment information, but we've got it fixed now. (To answer the question though - the address for the paypal account is info@northeastcdc.org.)

Best,
Jamie

We'd love to have you on the Northeast Ride on June 2nd! There are also great trails that take you from the Twin Cities to Stillwater (just under 50 miles there & back) and to Northfield (closer to 80 miles there & back). Or, a weekend ride around the Lakes is always great!

Hi Shawn,

Thanks for your comment! The $25 is currently going largely to event costs - insurance, permits, promotion, printing, etc. The ride is being organized by the Northeast Community Development Corporation (northeastcdc.org), a 501(c)3 nonprofit that serves the Northeast Community. Any funds raised above and beyond the ride costs themselves, though that's doubtful this first year, would go towards that organizations ongoing community services. (and potentially towards ride costs for 2013!)

This looks like a great time! Does the $25 registration fee go to any type of benefit/cause?
